Registered Nurse - PICU New

Position: RN – Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

Facility: Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Shift: Nights – 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Hours: 36 hours/week

Block Schedule: Not guaranteed; requires manager approval

Pay When Paid: No

Unit Details

• Float Pool Coverage: CVPICU, NICU, PICU (all pediatric units within Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital)
• Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Required
  
  

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (must be AHA certified)
• Preferred Experience: ECMO, CRRT
• Licensure: South Carolina RN license or valid Multi-State/Compact license
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted if experience meets requirements
• Local Radius Rule: No locals within 60 miles unless approved (locals may be accepted at 10% lower bill rate)
• RTO: Must be submitted with initial application; approval based on unit needs
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks

• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during this period
